Extracts from state reply to Durban Review questionnaire:
In the last years, a big attention has been placed on prevention measures, focusing on education of tolerance. In accordance with the spirit of Durban Declaration, specific attention is paid to gender equality. Gender equality is guaranteed in the Constitution and in many legal measures. Armenia actively fights contemporary forms of slavery, such as forced labor, including sexual exploitation. The fight against trafficking in persons is a priority for the government.

Extracts from ECRI's second report (adopted in June 2006):
In 2003 the Armenian authorities have amended the Constitution to provide for the equality of all before the law for everyone within the Armenian jurisdiction. Furthermore, a new criminal code has been adopted which sanctions hate crime. However, there are no comprehensive civil and administrative anti-discrimination provisions. There is no system for providing national minorities with greater access to the civil and political life.
