Ratification CERD: yes in 1972, Austria has also agreed to individual petitions under Article 14.


Extracts from state reply to Durban Review questionnaire:
In 2004 and 2006, a new legislative framework in the field of non-discrimination was introduced. The protection hitherto afforded against gender discrimination is now also applied to discrimination on grounds of ethnic origin, religion and ideology, sexual orientation, disability, and age. In March 2007 the Council of Ministers adopted the National Action Plan against human trafficking. The Federal Constitutional Act of 3 July 1973, provides that any kind of discrimination on racial grounds is prohibited.
