In 2002 the Federal Government submitted its first "Report on the Current and Envisaged Measures and Activities of the Federal Government against right-wing extremism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and violence". On this basis, the Government drew up a National Action Plan that is due to be completed before the end of 2008. German criminal law covers criminal offences that are motivated by racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism. With regard to the Sinti and Roma, Germany has been involved, within the framework of the OSCE in developing an action plan for enhancing the situation of the Sinti and Roma.
