Liechtenstein implemented several measures and programs in the framework of a National Action Plan against Racism. Improvements have been achieved with regard to the legislation, awareness raising and the dissemination of relevant information. Manifestations of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance have been decreasing in the last years and are very rare in general. In 2003 - 2007 a series of preventive measures and projects have been conducted in cooperation with the public administration, with NGO's and representatives of different sectors of the society.

Extract from ECRI annual report (adopted in December 2007):
In its annual report of 2007 ECRI concludes that, although several measures have been taken within the framework of the National Action Plan, Muslims still face obstacles in practicing their religion. Furthermore, children of immigrant background are faced with disadvantages in access to education. The new integration strategy puts strong emphasis on requesting efforts from immigrants without requesting the same level of effort on the majority of the population.
