Ratification CERD: yes in 1972, Senegal has also agreed to individual petitions under Article 14.
Extracts from state reply to Durban Review questionnaire:
To date there are no racist actions known in the country. Senegal embodies tolerance and has an old tradition of harmonious co-existence of cultures and dialogue of religions. The state has adopted, before the adoption of the DDPA, a number of legislative measures aimed at addressing the issue of racial discrimination. The penal code also has provisions focusing on non-discrimination and providing for severe sanctions against discrimination. The CERD is incorporated in national legislation, as is the case with the penal code and laws on seditious associations.
