Ratification CERD: yes in 1969, Ukraine has also agreed to individual petitions under Article 14.

In 2001, the Ukrainian authorities created a programme for assisting Roma in areas as employment and healthcare. The Office of the Ombudsman has launched a programme to monitor the situation of minority groups. However, criminal legislation against racially motivated crimes has not been strengthened and the authorities have not yet adopted a comprehensive body of civil and administrative anti-discrimination laws. The programme for assisting Roma was insufficiently funded. Furthermore, racially motivated violence targeting primarily Crimean Tartars and Jewish communities has increased.
