I CARE: We are talking to Manuela who is in the Embassy of Concerned Citizens, a tent in the middle of Vienna. Why is there an Embassy of Concerned Citizens? Manuela; Because we don't feel represented by the government which is in Austria now. So we founded an embassy which is taking care of the concerns of the people and make sure that they are recognized. I CARE: What is happening in the Embassy? Manuela: We just started three days ago, and there is no organization behind it, just a gathering of concerned citizens. So slowly but surely we are becoming a program here. Just today we had a very interesting discussion where we invited two representatives of organizations organizing the resistance and invited people and talk to them about the future perspectives of resistance in Austria. There were about hundred people coming and you must imagine we're outside in front of the government house. It's freezing cold and these hundred people were here talking for about an hour and a half and they didn't want to stop but the speakers of course were freezing so we stopped it. It shows there is a big interest and it also shows the people really want to go on with the resistance. Their concern is mostly about violence and it is very clear this is something people don't want here. I CARE: So all the Austrians who are concerned should bring blankets and heaters! Manuela: That would be nice (laughter). More blankets, more heaters wouldn't be bad (more laughter). I CARE: How long is the Embassy going to stay there? Manuela: We decided to stay as long as we have reason to worry about the situation in Austria. So, it might be for years, we don't know. When there is another formation we may feel like we can go. I CARE: Thank you very much. Manuela: Thank you.
