MINUTES OF THE ISC – MONDAY, 27 August 2001, from 8:30 pm

2. WELCOME AND OPENING

Mercia Andrews took the chairing the meeting.

  1. PROGRAMME OF THE NGO FORUM
  2. The programme of the first two days of the NGO Forum was approved with reservations.

    1. The new timetable of workshops will be handed tomorrow at 7 am.
    2. A new charge 500 ZAR for each workshop was imposed by the Secretariat

  3. WCAR PASSES
  4. Information by Laurie Wiseberg:

    For the first two days and for the last day, there will be 760 passes ("B", "C", "D") for the access to ICC (only for NGOs pre-registered by the 30th August and for caucuses), the other passes are only valid for the Durban Exhibition Centre (DEC). 600 of these passes will provide access to the plenary, the others to the "overflow" room.

    For the other days, there will be 700 additional passes ("E") on the first come first serve basis distributed on the previous day at 12:00 noon. For the access to the Drafting Committee, there will be 150 passes (those NGOs which will get these ones will have to return their "normal" passes).

  5. OUTSTANDING PROBLEMS
    1. ISC members have not been accommodated together in the previewed hotel despite the recommendation from but dispersed in different
    2. There are still problems with the travel costs and pocket money. ISC members have not seen any money yet.

ISC will meet on Tuesday, 28th August in its office – the King’s Club (Kingsmead Cricket Stadium South Stand, 2nd Floor, King’s Club).
